Tintagel
What a change in the weather - cold and wet, but we still went to Tintagel - a quaint village that is associated with King Arthur. After a hearty bangers and mash lunch at the local pub we ventured (rolled) down the hill to Tintagel Castle.
Now although the weather was very misty and damp, in a strange way it added to the whole experience, bringing this wonderful place, eerily to life. It was an amazing site to explore with lots of steps and a bridge that had a floor paved with local slate which moved as you walked across it. That wasn’t freaky at all. Little britches AKA, Wicket, was not having any of it so he had to be carried across.
We were pretty lucky, as the rain stayed off for the walk around the ruins of the castle but on our climb out and back up to the main village the heavens opened and we were all totally drenched. An exhausting day but a great day. The pups were that knackered they couldn’t move and took a lot of coaxing to get them outside last thing at night…..
Next stop north Devon.
Lots of love T&TA x
