Vanworx days…

So we left Brighton and now back at Portland to have some new bits fitted to the van and the remainder of the ‘snags’ completed. Always good to head to the guys at Vanworx and catch up, they’ve got a good team there but always super busy.

We usually speak with Dan who helps us out with all of our questions or concerns. Then there’s Mike in the workshop who has been working on the snags but also on the new spare wheel carrier which he installed yesterday.

This was the 2nd of two prototypes and the version that Dan and Mike settled for, is absolutely solid and looks and feels fantastic. We’re really happy with the design and where it sits on the back of the van. This is quite a weighty wheel but it’ll be easier to get on and off than the previous design which meant juggling with the wheel whilst trying to get it mounted onto the carrier. For those wondering why we needed a spare wheel carrier, the standard carrier which is situated under the rear of the van is too small to accommodate the new larger wheels, so we had to come up with a way of carrying a spare. Functional but looks awesome too!

We are here in Portland until Monday and then have a small job to have completed in Southampton and then we will start heading north to hopefully do the north coast 500

Lots of love
